Over the years, Tyler, The Creator has demonstrated creative success in ways many did not expect. From Converse shoe collab, back-to-back Grammy Awards, the success of le FLEUR with collaborations from Lacoste, GOLF, & Globe Trotters, as well as scoring movies & a Louis V runway show, Tyler ‘s accolades speak volumes in a room full of nae-sayers. However, with the help of longtime friend, mentor & collaborator, Pharrell Williams, Tyler has checked off another accomplishment off his list with the debut of his Men’s Spring 2024 capsule collection at LVMH’s coveted Maison, Louis Vuitton.

“My main focus was making things I would wear all the time. I dress the same in a meeting as I do a performance or grocery store trip,”.  Tyler goes against the distinct look of French luxury, by inserting his own specific design elements. Hand drawn monograms, pastel colors, even incorporating waffles; all the motif’s used in this collection add to the world Tyler has built for years since his first designs. Pharrell gave Tyler creative control & rather than limiting himself to what would be deemed “acceptable” for the Louis V audience, he flipped it back on his own audience as a sweet gift. As if it’s his way of still reminding us, “Hey, it’s still me, just a different lens”.

I have been following Tyler’s career since I was in middle school listening to Bastard (s/o OF, that was my first concert), so to see how much Tyler has grown as a multi-creative mind entering the luxury French fashion space is…. well, inspiring isn’t a strong enough word to use honestly. Thank you, Tyler & Pharrell for continuing to motivate people, like me, to believe “I can do it too”.

Tyler, Luis Perez, Tara Razavi, & everyone at Happy Place did such a great job capturing sensational storytelling & images of the Louis Vuitton design capsule. Looking forward to seeing these around once they drop March 21, 2024. Enjoy the lookbook until then:
